In the last few days, the political arena in Karnataka has gotten more animated than ever before. From rumours of an alleged coup in the Congress party to a face-off between the chief minister and the BJP state president. The recent happenings have left politics in a wobble in the state.

Taking the fight ahead, a delegation of BJP leaders met DG-IGP of Karnataka Neelamani N Raju and submitted a memorandum. They sought action against CM HD Kumaraswamy under various sections of the IPC for his 'revolt' comment he had made on September 20.

BJP leaders alleged that the police department did not provide security to BS Yeddyurappa's house despite they knowing that Congress workers would protest outside the former CM's house.

Later in the day, BJP leaders protested in Bengaluru against Kumaraswamy and the state government. Led by MPs Shobha Karandlaje and PC Mohan BJP workers protested in Bengaluru and demanded HDK's resignation.

BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje said, "Chief minister Kumaraswamy's comment is unacceptable. This is an attempt to provoke and cause harm to our leader and workers. We demand Kumaraswamy to tender his resignation."

BJP Leaders Meet Governor

Led by union minister DV Sadananda Gowda, BJP leaders knocked on the doors of Governor Vajubhai Vala and complained against Kumaraswamy. Sadananda Gowda said, "Chief minister Kumaraswamy has made an unconstitutional statement. It is not right on part of him to provoke people. We've briefed governor and demand action against him."

The JD(S) has called the protest as a farce.  Spokesperson Arivalagan said, "BJP has no moral right to protest against Kumaraswamy's statement. He meant people must revolt, in simple terms it means protest against the BJP. There's nothing more to the statement. Just because Lok Sabha polls are around the corner, they're doing these antics."

The JD(S) is meanwhile playing a wait and watch game. Although the recent statements have only further vitiated the political atmosphere in Karnataka.

The political war between JD(S) and BJP is definitely grabbing more headlines than other issues that concern the people. But both the political party's are aware that this tussle won't help their electoral prospects in the Lok Sabha polls.
