BJP MLA claim: 'Cows give more milk when Krishna-style flute played'

BJP's Assam legislature Dilip Kumar Paul claimed that cows produce more milk when they listen to tunes on the flute similar to the ones played by Lord Krishna.

The senior BJP MLA further defended his claim saying that it has been proven by "very talented" research team. 

"This isn't my statement. A very talented research team from Gujarat conducted research and proved this. Lord Krishna didn't play the flute for timepass," the BJP MLA told ANI.

Dilip Kumar Paul, the senior BJP leader from Silchar in Assam's Barak valley had said that the amount of milk from the cow rises by "multiple times" when the flute in played in a "special tune which Lord Krishna used to play."

"It has been proven by modern scientists that if we can play the flute in a special tune, which Lord Krishna used to do, the amount of milk increases multiple times," he reportedly told a gathering in his constituency on Saturday during a cultural ceremony.

The BJP leader had allegedly called the following technique the 'science of ancient times' and further asserted that "we are going to bring this technique back to modern times."

The Assam BJP leader had previouly been vocal about the concern of cattle smuggling from India to Bangladesh through borders of West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya. He said, "We call the cow 'gau-mata' (cow-mother). But thousands of them are being smuggled to Bangladesh every year. This should stop."

Dilip Kumar Paul is not the only BJP legislature to make such claims on cows, but during the Lok Sabha 2019 election campaign, Bhopal Parliamentarian Sadhvi Pragya Thakur had claimed that cow urine has the potential to cure cancer, and that it worked in her case. 

While the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat had said that cow is the only animal to 'inhale and exhale oxygen.' The BJP leader further claimed that massaging a cow can cure respiratory problems.
