A police complaint against Priyanka Sharma, a Bharatiya Janata Youth Morcha (BJYM) worker, was filed for allegedly posting a photo-shopped image of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banejee on her Facebook handle.

What is the image?

The image is a meme of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's face superimposed on Priyanka Chopra's popular MET Gala 2019 look which makes the overall picture comical. However, the post has been taken down from her timeline now.

ANI took to their Twitter handle to share the news: "West Bengal: A Police complaint has been filed against Priyanka Sharma - Howrah District Club Cell Convener, Bharatiya Janata Morcha - BJYM, for allegedly posting a photo-shopped picture of CM Mamata Banerjee on her Facebook account yesterday."

In a complaint filed by a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, Bivas Chandra Hazra said: 'Priyanka Sharma... posted a most awful post on Facebook on 9th May 2019 at 5 PM on her timeline i.e. she cut the face of Mamata Banerjee from any picture and paste it on a picture of some model or something like that, which broke the community guidelines and its is also an issue of violence. She not just tries to insult our Hon'lbe Chief Minister, but she trying to insults the culture of our Bengal by her post on Facebook and which is Cyber Crime.'

BYJM on their Twitter handle wrote: "Foreseeing defeat in elections, the atrocities @MamataOfficial has reached another level. Priyanka Sharma, district executive member of @bjym4howrah was arrested for posting Met Gala-themed meme on CM Mamata Banerjee.
