One such police officer's rescue work has become an inspiration for all on the internet.

On May 2, the Odisha police shared on Twitter the picture of a female officer in action. The cop from Talchua Police Station, Kendrapara is seen taking two women on her bike to evcuate them ahead of cyclone Fani hitting the region.

The image showing the Odisha cop's composure while facing possible adversaries and doing her duty has netizens in awe of her.

Cyclone Fani, which made landfall at Odisha's Puri on Friday, May 3 unleashed copious rain and windstorm that gusted up to 200 kmph, blowing away thatched roofs of houses, swamped towns and villages, before weakening and entering West Bengal.

The death toll due to the calamity, which stood at eight on Friday, mounted to 12 with four fresh casualties reported from Mayurbhanj district in Odisha, officials said, adding that detailed information from many areas was still awaited
