An intruder from Pakistan was gunned down by the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel as he tried to sneak into the Indian territory near the border village of Simbal Sakol in Punjab’s Pathankot district on Monday morning, August 14.

According to sources, the incident occurred at around 3 am in the morning when the BSF troops observed suspicious movement of a Pakistani intruder ahead of the border fencing in the area near the Simbal Sakol village.

The troops' action on the intruder came after he did not stop and continued moving, despite repeated warnings. Sensing the imminent threat, the BSF personnel fired upon the miscreant in self-defence, neutralising him on the spot.

The BSF’s action came just three days after it shot dead an intruder as he tried to sneak into the Indian territory near Thehkalan village of Tarn Taran district in Punjab. “On August 11 morning, BSF troops observed suspicious movement of a Pakistani intruder ahead of the border fence near Thekalan village,” the BSF spokesperson informed.
