Centre selects 41 IAS officers to fill secretary&secretary-level posts

The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet approved the empanelment of 41 IAS officers, most of them from the 1987 batch, for holding secretary-level post.

On Wednesday, October 9, the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet approved the empanelment of 41 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, most of them from the 1987 batch, for holding secretary-level and secretary equivalent-level posts at the Centre. Twenty-six officers, including 25 from the 1987 batch from different states including Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Manipur have been empanelled for secretary-level posts. Here is the circular issued by the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet on Wednesday: 

Fifteen empanelled for secretary equivalent-level posts

14 candidates out of a total of 15 are said to be from 1987 batch, who have been empanelled for secretary equivalent-level posts. IAS Officer Usha Sharma, a 1985 batch IAS officer has been empanelled for secretary-level post and WR Reddy of 1986 batch for secretary equivalent-level post. Mallampali Srinivas Rao (AM:87), Amir Subhani (BH:87), BVR Subrahmanyam (CG:87), Lalnummawia Chuaungo (GJ:87), Tarun Kapoor (HK:87), Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi (JH:87), Pradip Kumar Tripathi (JK: 87) are empanelled for secretary-level posts. Ram Mohan Mishra (AM:87), Bimbadhar Pradhan (BH:87) and Pradeep Kumar (KL:87) are among those empanelled for secretary equivalent posts at the Centre.

ACC cleared the appointment of 32 IAS officers as additional secretaries

In a separate order, the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet (ACC) cleared the appointment of 32 IAS officers as additional secretaries to the Government of India. The list includes the name of Debashree Mukherjee, a 1991 batch IAS officer in the Prime Minister’s Office and Supriya Sahu, a TN cadre officer from the same batch who served as Director-General of Doordarshan. Other few names in the list of IAS officers holding the rank of additional secretaries are Renu Gonela Pillay (CG:91), Abhilaksh Likhi (HY:91), Anil Malik (HY:91), Shailesh Kumar Singh (JH:91), Rachna Shah (KL:91), B Srinivas (KL:91), L K Atheeq (KN:91).
