The countdown to Chandrayaan-2's Vikram Lander's final touchdown on the Moon has begun on Friday. With hours left for Chandrayaan 2's soft landing, a micro artist based in Siliguri, West Bengal, has shown his excitement for the mission. The micro artist known as Ramesh Shah has shown perseverance and patience by drawing a miniature painting of Chandrayaan-2's landing on the moon, on his thumbnail.

Being a micro-artist Ramesh Shah drew Chandrayaan-2's landing painting on his right thumbnail by utilising 15 to 20 mm nail space. It took his three days to complete the entire painting. He registered with one of the most significant memberships of the Guinness Book of World Record for his artistic treasures, by becoming one of the forerunners of this art form in the world. Ramesh Shah also congratulated PM Modi and ISRO space scientists over Chandrayaan-2's landing. Speaking about the historic moment, the micro artist said:

"It would be a historic moment for India once the spacecraft makes a soft landing on the moon. Chandrayaan-2's Vikram lander will be landing, early on Saturday morning, near the South Pole of the moon's surface. After this, India will become the fourth powerful country in the world to make a soft landing on the moon. I have made five world records by painting micro arts. I draw paintings related to prevailing world issues. I feel really good when I draw these miniature paintings," micro artist Shah said.

Ahead of the soft landing of Chandrayaan-2, ISRO shared the sequence of events of the mission:

• 1:38 AM: Rough Braking Start(30KM)

• 1: 52 AM: First Image of moon surface sent to Earth
• 1:53 AM: Vikram Touch Down
• 3:53 AM: Pragyan Ramp Deployment
• 4:23 AM: Pragyan On
• 5:03 AM: Pragyan Solar Panel Deployment
• 5:19 AM: Pragyan Rover Roll Down
• 5:29 AM: Pragyan Rover Touch Down

What will happen after soft-landing is successful?

Once the Chandrayaan-2 Vikram lander completes the soft landing on the moon successfully, Pragyan rover will roam the south pole on the lunar surface to test the possibility of the presence of water. As explained by ISRO, Pragyan is a six-wheeled robotic vehicle i.e rover carrying two payloads. Pragyan, which weighs 27kg can only communicate with the Lander - Vikram. After Chandrayaan-1 provided evidence of water molecules on the moon, Pragyan will study the extent of water molecule distribution on the surface, below the surface and in the exosphere using its two payloads - Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer (APXS) and Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS).
