CISF organises cycle and bike rallies to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) organized cycle and motorcycle rallies in Maharashtra and Gujarat to commemorate Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary.

Celebrating the 150th birth year anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel based in different places organised various events like motorcycle and cycle rallies.

CISF motorcycle rally

On the occasion of Bapu's birth anniversary, The CISF personnel based in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri organized a motorcycle rally to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi. The organisation took to Twitter and shared the pictures from the rally. The motorcycle rally was primarily organized to spread awareness about the efforts pertaining to the 'Plastic-free India' movement. Additionally, it was a part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign conducted by CISF personnel of Ratnagiri Gas and Power (RGPPL). The visuals showed riders taking to the streets in and around villages of Ratnagiri District.

CISF cycle rally

Meanwhile, celebrations ensued in other parts of the country. In Gujarat, the CISF personnel flagged off a cycle rally from the Gujarat refinery in Vadodara to Sabarmati Ashram. The rally aimed to promote Gandhi's teachings among the locals. The CISF also gave a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by placing a garland on the Gandhi statue at CISF Unit IOCL Baroda.

Indian Railways pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

The Indian Railways' Central Railway zone paid their tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Railway officials decide to paint the locomotives and engines with Mahatma Gandhi's pictures. Gandhi's pictures were accompanied by a tricolour backdrop. According to the Ministry of Railways, over 15 such locomotives are presently running on the Mumbai-Pune and Mumbai-Konkan route. An additional seven locomotives have been picked up and paint job is being undertaken.
