Coronavirus: Museums, monuments shut for visitors in Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday ordered the closure of all archaeological museums and state protected monuments till further notice due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday ordered the closure of all archaeological museums and state protected monuments till further notice due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

While the entry of visitors to museums and monuments will be banned till further order, staff must remain present on duty, Pankaj Rag, Commissioner of Archaeology Archives and Museums said.

It is the latest in a slew of social distancing measures taken by the MP government over the past few days.

These include closure of schools, Anganwadis, cinema halls till March 31. So far, no positive case of coronavirus has been found in the state.
