After the Centre banned the Jamaat-e-Islami on Thursday for its backing to Hizbul Mujahideen and for the organisation's pro-secessionist and pro-Pakistani ideology, Mehbooba Mufti has condemned the move by the government.

Despite the threat to national security posed by the JeI J&K, where MHA has said the organisation is responsible for the formation and growth of terror outfits like Hizbul Mujahideen and that it had been providing all kind of support to the outfit, Mufti has tweeted in its support called the Centre's action high-handed.

She even praised said the organisation saying that it has worked tirelessly for Kashmiris, but has not spoken a word against Pakistan.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister has parroting Pakistan PM Imran Khan and hailing him since the tense situation between the two countries owing to the Pulwama attack.

A similar liking for the organisation was shown by former National Conference chief and erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah. In 2017, he had asked for support to the organisation to fight forces such as RSS during the Lok Sabha bypolls in the state.

The banning of Jamaat-e-Islami (J&K) and evidence of it being a radical organisation:

A day after the Indian government declared Jamaat-e-Islami (J&K) as an ‘unlawful association’ under the UAPA act, Republic TV has accessed details which reveals the group is the driving force behind the radical ideology in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

It has been found out that the JeI (J&K) - which is not related to the JeI - is responsible for the formation and growth of terror outfits like Hizbul Mujahideen. They had been providing all kind of support, be it logistics, funds, shelter to the organization headed by Syed Salahuddin -- who is also the chairman of United Jehad Council and presently hiding in Pakistan.
