Dr Subramanian Swamy, the complainant in the National Herald case which will be heard at the Rouse Avenue Court on Friday tweeted saying that he was assured of winning it. Dr Swamy who is likely to be cross-examined by the lawyers of Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi said that the case was based on the document he filed than his cross-examination. Dr Subramanian Swamy likely to be cross-examined in National Herald case

Dr Subramanian Swamy in July had sought adjournment during the hearing at Rouse Avenue Court.  The BJP MP, was to be cross-examined by the lawyer of Congress leaders in July sought adjournment as the BJP has issued whip in the Rajya Sabha for the Budget session till the Parliament is in session. On April 27, the court deferred the hearing in the National Herald case to July 5 after Swamy and counsel for Congress president Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and other accused sought an adjournment. Sonia and Rahul Gandhi's lawyer RS Cheema had put 18 questions to Swamy on February 4 in the partly held cross-examination in the court of the ACMM.

National Herald Case

The ACMM's court was recently shifted from Patiala House to the newly constructed Rouse Avenue court complex. Swamy had filed the case in 2012 accusing the two Gandhis and others of conspiring to cheat and misappropriate funds. He had stated that the Congress party granted an interest-free loan of Rs. 90.25 crore to Associated Journals Limited (AJL), owner of the National Herald newspaper.

ED chargesheets Congress leaders in AJL land case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday filed a charge sheet against former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Congress senior leader Moti Lal Vora. The case in which the leaders have been chargesheeted are the case of Panchkula land allotment to Congress promoted Associated Journals Limited (AJL). The chargesheet states that Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Vora were directly involved in activity connected with acquisition, possession or projection that resulted in irregularities. They alleged irregularities and money laundering case is related to C-17, Sector-6 in Panchkula, by the Hooda government in 1992 to the AJL.
