Earlier, the MEPs met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. As per the sources, he briefed them for 40 minutes on the J&K issue, stressing that it was an internal matter of India. Reportedly, he stated that it was important to restore democracy, equal rights and opportunities for the common man of J&K. Furthermore, they were briefed about the Pakistan-sponsored protests against India in different parts of the EU in the last few months. According to the sources, the NSA also told the delegation about Pakistan-sponsored terror and provocation by Islamabad to see bloodshed and violence in the Kashmir valley. Thereafter, the EU MEPs welcomed the steps taken by India in J&K, especially ending discrimination and going against corruption by abrogation of Article 370.
