EXCLUSIVE: "You can't expect her to corroborate my story when Ganesh Acharya is also one of the accused in the FIR," says Tanushree Dutta on eyewitness Daisy Shah following the probe against Nana Patekar being discontinued

Recognised as the face who propelled the #MeToo movement in India by being the first voice from Bollywood, Tanushree Dutta, back in September 2018 accused actor Nana Patekar of misbehaving with her on the sets of 'Horn Ok Please' back in 2008. 

While Patekar refuted all claims, Dutta went ahead to file an FIR against him. However, in recent development to the case, the Mumbai Police filed a 'B Summary' report which is filed when the Police cannot find evidence in support of the complaint, indicating that they will not be able to continue the investigation.

In an exclusive interview with Republic World, Tanushree Dutta expressed her thoughts over the recent development and laid bare her version of the events, including the account of eyewitnesses who failed to confirm her version of events. 

When questioned how actress Daisy Shah, an eyewitness could not confirm the incident, in response to which Dutta said she was a 'close personal assistant' of Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who is one of the accused in the FIR.

She said, "Of course, because she was a close personal assistant of Ganesh Acharya for more than a decade," and cited having observed their closeness, adding, "You can't expect her to corroborate my story when Ganesh Acharya is also one of the accused in the FIR."

Meanwhile, witnesses have claimed that Dutta was aware of changes in the dance sequence of the song in the film Dutta and Patekar were shooting together, as per ANI report. 

While women across Bollywood from Sonam K Ahuja to Twinkle Khanna, Parineeti Chopra, Richa Chadda and Konkana Sen Sharma came out in support of the actress, most Bollywood bigwigs maintained their silence over the sexual harassment case. 

Speaking over the response from the industry, Dutta expressed her anguish by calling Bollywood a 'rotten apple'

"No, Bollywood is a rotten apple that is slowly destroying India because of them setting a bad example for youth in our country," she said citing support for accused persons.

In a recent development, the Police report stated that there was no mention of sexual harassment in the complaint made in 2008.
