Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist arrested in Moradabad by UP ATS

In a significant breakthrough, the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) apprehended Ahmed Raza, a member of the notorious terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen. Raza, a resident of Muradabad, was arrested while he was on his way to attend a training camp operated by Hizbul Mujahideen.

Raza's arrest followed meticulous intelligence work carried out by the ATS which revealed his deep-rooted connections with the extremist outfit. He had been in direct contact with the handlers from Pakistan, maintaining sustained communication through social media channels. The authorities uncovered extensive photographic and chat evidence of his association with terrorist operatives.

During interrogation, Raza confessed to his extremist ideologies and his unwavering commitment to establishing Sharia law in India, displaying a clear disregard for the Indian Constitution. He had embarked on a perilous journey to Pakistan and subsequently Afghanistan, seeking training from militant outfits. Subsequently, he aimed to orchestrate a major terrorist incident within India's borders.

Special DG Law and Order, speaking exclusively to Republic TV, underscored the gravity of Raza's intentions and the danger he posed. "Raza's arrest prevented a potentially catastrophic event on Indian soil. His indoctrination and extensive communication with handlers reflect a determined effort to disrupt peace and harmony," he said.

The STF's relentless efforts in tracking online and offline radicalization have proved crucial in curbing the growing threat of terrorism. The authorities are actively investigating Raza's involvement in recruiting local youth from regions such as Moradabad, Saharanpur, and Deoband.
