Ahead of 'Howdy, Modi!' on Sunday in Houston, Congress' Abhishek Singhvi shared a quote by Elton John, to resonate his opinions over the mega event.

In a tweet that read, "I think performers are all show-offs anyway. Unless you show off, you're not going to get noticed," Abhishek Singhvi indirectly, took a dig at PM Modi over the event that will be attended by US President Donald Trump and over 50,000 Indian-Americans.

Owaisi over 'Howdy Modi!'

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, on Monday, has said despite not solving Indo-US trade issues, the leader of the two nations are ready to share a stage. He also pointed out how the US-China trade war is affecting the Indian economy. Talking about US' talks with the Taliban in an effort to withdraw its troops from the region, he said that we are not doing anything about how it will affect India. He commented that despite these issues, if the two world leaders are sharing a stage, then so be it.

"We are not able to solve our trade issues with America, but you will share a stage together. It is a weird development. The trade war between US and China is affecting our own economy. We don't know what America is going to do in Afghanistan, but we too face a threat. But we are not doing anything about it and sharing a stage. So be it," he said.

White House confirms Trump's presence

US Press Secretary in a statement announced that US President Donald Trump will be traveling to Houston, Texas, and Wapakoneta, Ohio to accentuate the important partnerships between the United States, India, and Australia. The US statement confirmed that Donald Trump would be participating in the "Howdy, Modi!" event alongside PM Modi.

Howdy, Modi!

The Houston event will be Modi's third major address to the Indian-American community after he became the prime minister in 2014 and the first after his re-election in May. The previous two were at the Madison Square Garden in New York in 2014 and the Silicon Valley in 2016. Both the events were attended by more than 20,000 people. The "Howdy, Modi!" event is being organised by non-profit Texas India Forum, a recently-formed representative body of hundreds of Indian American organisations in Texas and other parts of the US.
