IAF confronts and pushes back Pakistani jets which attempted to enter Indian airspace in Lam and KG Sectors: LIVE UPDATES

Pakistan's attempt to infiltrate Indian airspace comes a day after they had initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation on four occasions near the border.

Airports in Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, Amritsar and Pathankot have been shut down due to high alert. Airspace in these regions have been suspended due to security reasons.

The Indian Air Force has shot down a Pakistani F-16 jet that had violated Indian airspace in Lam Valley, Nowshera sector. A parachute was seen after as the intruder plane was going down. The condition of the pilot is currently unknown.

IAF Su-30s — part of Combat Air Patrol — in the area was engaged to push back any intrusion.

After IAF successfully shoots down Pakistani F-16 which tried to enter Indian Air Space, Pakistan shuts its airspace.

Pakistan immediately stops its domestic and international flight operations from Lahore, Multan, Faislabad, Sialkot and Islamabad Airports.

The Indian Air Force successfully confronted Pakistani jets in two sectors of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday after an infiltration attempt into Indian airspace.

The incursion attempt by Pakistan was repulsed by the Indian Air Force after Pak jets had infiltrated into Indian airspace Lam and KG sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.

The incursion comes a day after the Indian Air Force had successfully eliminated terror training camps in Pakistan and PoK which were functioning with full impunity. The very fact that Pakistan tried to use official assets to come into Indian air space, just a day later, is only a further corroboration of the narrative that they fully support those in the JeM, the LeT and the Hizbul Mujahideen camps eliminated by India.
