Income Tax officials raid TDP MP CM Ramesh's residence, offices in Hyderabad 

Income tax department carried out major raids at TDP Rajya Sabha MP and businessman CM Ramesh residence, office and other locations on Friday. CM Ramesh is the promoter of Rithwik Projects Pvt. Ltd and as per sources, about 60 IT officials are raiding his home in Kadapa. As PAC member, CM Ramesh had issued a notice to IT department to furnish details about IT raids in Andhra Pradesh. Within three days of issuing a notice, IT raided his residence and offices. 

"These IT raids are part of Operation Garuda. While we are demanding for justice, the centre is acting in a revengeful manner. Raids on Beeda Masthan Rao and Y. S. Chowdhary were part of operation Garuda. These are the raids on people of Andhra Pradesh", said a TDP source.

Last week on Friday, major raids were carried out by the Income Tax officials in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, to dig out a paramount scam going on in the colleges and schools owned by the Narayana Group of Educational Institutions which is run by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Ponguru Narayana. The I-T officials flew from Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad to carry out more simultaneous raids on other TDP contractors in Vijayawada.

TDP had also earlier claimed that they will face retaliation from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after coming out of the party.

“This is a backlash against the TDP by the NDA for coming out of the alliance,” said TDP MLA P Narayana when questioned about the raids.

Apart from P Narayana, it has also been reported that the income tax officials have also conducted raids on the business owned by the former TDP leader Beeda Masthan Rao in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Consequently, the I-T department has raided other ministers' properties in the eight other regions in the South as well.
