While Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Kahn was busy in rhetoric during his rally in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) claiming that 1.2 billion Muslims were watching what India was doing in J&K, the Indian Army once again showed the way by upholding the highest standard of professionalism. Time and again, the Indian Army has dismantled the fake propaganda spread by Pakistan. On a day when Imran Khan was narrating a script written by the Pakistan army for him, the Indian army was giving way to the Pakistan army to take back the bodies of their soldiers so that they can be given a proper send-off.

“It is the Pakistan army that disowns it's dead, if they are the residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) or soldiers from the Northern Light Infantry, Pakistan never accepts their bodies and it’s the Indian army which gives them a proper burial," a senior army officer told Republic TV speaking in the matter.

On the intervening night of September 10 and 11, a Pakistan army soldier was killed in the retaliation of the Indian army in PoK's Hajipur sector. Later, the Pakistan army desperately tried to retrieve the mortal remains of its soldier.

“The soldier identified as Sepoy Ghulam Rasool of their Punjab regiment and a resident of Bahawalnagar of Pakistani Punjab was killed in retaliation. Initially, Pakistani soldiers resorted to intense ceasefire violation in an attempt to retrieve the body. However, while trying to retrieve the mortal remains of the soldier, another Pakistani soldier was killed in Indian retaliation,” the officer added. As the two dead soldiers hailed from Pakistan's Punjab, its army had to retrieve the body.

However, when their repeated attempt to retrieve the bodies for two days failed, it had to resort to raising the white flag to retrieve the mortal remains of its soldiers on September 13.

“The Indian army showed highest standards of professionalism and when the Punjab Regiment of Pakistan army raised while flag we allowed them to take back the mortal remains of their soldiers,” the Indian army officer further said.

However, in a shocking incident, Pakistan army had earlier refused to take back the bodies of their soldiers from Keran sector seemingly because they were either Kashmiris or from Northern Light Infantry.

"On September 13, their Punjab Regiment soldiers raised the white flag and then they recovered the bodies. Indian Army respects dead and so permitted the same. But despite us offering them to take back the bodies of their 5 to 7 solider of the Northern Light Infantry in the Keran sector of Kupwara district, Pakistan refused to do so," the officer said.

“Remember Kargil. When Pak disowned their own dead. It was the Indian soldiers performed the last rites even on icy heights during Kargil War, 1999,” the officers said.
