Indian Idol 11 contestant's story leaves Anand Mahindra teary-eyed

Popular reality show, Indian Idol season 11 is making news for its recent emotional and inspirational story of a contestant that left the Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra in tears. The contestant, Sunny, hails from Bathinda, Punjab and earns his daily bread by polishing shoes which forced the business tycoon to shower a lot of praises and good wishes. Mahindra shared a video clip of Sunny who came for the audition of the ongoing season 11 of Indian Idol.

Anand Mahindra's reaction

 He was touched by the inspirational story of the teenager who did not have any formal training in music. His mother sells balloon to keep the family running after his father passed away. Mahindra through his Twitter post told the people that they will also be left with a heavy heart after watching the entire clip. He further added that the extent of television and social media have really done an outstanding service from discovering the hidden talent from far remote locations. The business magnate wrote on Twitter that the Diwali is the best moment to learn about the people who rise. He further added that one of his friends sent him the video clip and asked him to watch the video challenging him to be left with a heavy heart after watching the full clip.

It soon went viral on the internet and many users reacted to the post. Vishal Dadlani wrote, "So glad you noticed Sunny, @anandmahindra Sir. Do watch the upcoming episodes. All our singers on #IndianIdol11 have the potential to inspire kids in every corner and every economic level in India. We'd be honoured if you visit our set & chat with the kids, whenever you like!".

Another user commented, "Very true Sir. Hats off to this kid and his talent. @iAmNehaKakkar is at her best forever and she paid  Rs. 1 lakh to this kid for his mother."

A third user wrote, "Yes sir..I had watched this and he was brilliant.. considering his humble background and lack of training I can only say that gems abound in this country and such platforms are a blessing for them. God gifted is the only adjective I would use. And yes tears streamed down ."

About the reality show

The singing reality show, Indian Idol Season 11  is being judged by singer-music director Vishal Dadlani, composer Anu Malik and singer Neha Kakkar. The judges also listened to Sunny attentively and seemed to be impressed by his talent. Vishal Dadlani on noticing Mahindra's tweet thanked him and invited him to visit the set of Indian Idol 11 and interact with the singers.
