Inspired by Gillette's ad on the Barbershop girls - Neha and Jyoti in Banwari Tola, Uttar Pradesh, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar recently got a shave done by the 'Barbershop girls'. This was the first time he got a shave done someone else.

"A First for me! You may not know this, but I have never gotten a shave from someone else before. That record has been shattered today. Such an honour to meet the #BarbershopGirls and present them the @gilletteindia Scholarship."

Neha and  Jyoti's inspiring tale was recently captured by Gillette India's unique ad which focused on the gender inequality faced by women around the country and how a child's experiences influence the man-to-be.

The ad which runs over two minutes starts with a small boy talking about what he learns from his surroundings. It portrays how he has compartmentalized what men and women can do as per society's norms. He speaks how men get businesses handed down from their fathers and how girls get household chores handed down to them. As the boy and his father enter a barbershop the ad takes an a gender-shattering twist, and shows two girls entering smiling asking, "Uncle, do I trim your beard?" Seeing this, the confused kid asks, "Father, this one being a girl will handle razor?" To which the father replies, "How will the razor know if the one handling is a man or woman?"
