As the Opposition including Ghulam Nabi Azad and others of Congress and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi moving adjournment motion in Rajya Sabha over the situation in Kashmir, sources informed that Home Minister Amit Shah will make statements in both houses. The state of Jammu and Kashmir is on edge with Section 144 imposed in almost all the districts and all leaders including former Chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti on preventive custody.
Home Minister Amit Shah will first make a statement in the Upper House amid Opposition's accusation that the Centre is trying to meddle with special status of Jammu and Kashmir and the leaders of Jammu and Kahsmir continuously fear mongering on the status of Article 35 A, that grants special status to the state under Article 370, thereby defining the permanent citizen of the state.
Earlier, on Monday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence minister Rajnath Singh and law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi chaired a Cabinet meet. Meanwhile, Congress will meet all its MPs at 10:30 and all Opposition members of rajya sabha will hold a meeting too.
The meeting was held at NC chief Farooq Abdullah's residence and was attended by NC leader Omar Abdullah, political rivals PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, J&K People's Conference president Sajad Lone and others to discuss the situation in the state. Following the meeting, Abdullah said, "It was unanimously resolved that all the parties would be united in their resolve to protect and defend identity, anonymity and the special status of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh against all attack and onslaught whatsoever." Home Minister Amit Shah, NSA Ajit Doval high-level meet: Earlier on Sunday, Home Minister Amit Shah held high-level meet with Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and with other top security officials.
As per reports, the Home Minister is also likely to visit Jammu and Kashmir for a couple of days after the conclusion of the Parliament session on August 7. Amit Shah's visit may come before the Independence Day on August 15, amid the prevailing security tensions in the Valley in the aftermath of the curtailment of the Amarnath Yatra by the state government.

Plans of Attack on Amarnath Yatris by Pakistan: In a joint press brief by Chinar Corps Commander Lt General KJS Dhillon and J&K DGP Dilbag Singh in Srinagar they revealed that they had intelligence inputs that there were attempts of attacks on Amarnath Yatra by Pakistan and that they had recovered IEDs and US made Sniper rifle in the route of the Amarnath Yatra.
As the state of Jammu and Kashmir remains at the edge, speculations are high on what decision is being taken by Prime Minister Modi led Central government. The Modi government is determined to solve the Kashmir problem and as it came to power for the second time with a greater majority, it has made Kashmir problem its priority. With the Home Ministry being headed by Amit Shah and the Defence under Rajnath Singh, hopes are high for a possible solution to Kashmir even as the Opposition continues to fear monger over the status of Article 35 A and state their disbelief on the Modi government.
