Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina on Sunday announced a month-long 'Jana Jagaran Abhiyaan' (public awareness campaign) against coronavirus in the Union Territory from March 20.

"The sensitization programme against the coronavirus will be kick started at the district level on March 20 and will be taken to the block level," Raina said chairing a meeting of office-bearers of the party here. He said the leaders of the party would discharge their social duties by reaching out to the common masses and thoroughly educate them about all the possible measures to be taken to avoid the risk of contamination and cross infection.

Appealing to people not to panic and contribute in every way to contain the risk of getting infected, Raina said although the prevalence of the viral infection is in minimal stages as compared to other majorly affected nations, the finding and occurrence of positive cases in the country has forced the administration to take all safety measures.
