In a major success, the security forces have arrested one of the most mischievous instigators of law and order in downtown area of Srinagar. Hayat Ahmad Dar who was arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police after an early morning raid conducted at his residence. As per police officials, Hayat used to organize protests and instigate youth of the area to indulge in Law and Order issues in the downtown area.  “Post-August 5, Hayat Ahmad Dar used to instigated the youth in the downtown area to protest and resort to stone-pelting. He was today arrested in an early morning raid at his residence,” a senior Police official told Republic.

Hayat's prior involvement in anti-national activities

He said that Hayat who was earlier booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) had once again indulged in anti-national activities after he was released. “He was earlier booked under PSA, but after his release, he started organizing the stone-pelting in the area of Anchar lake and Soura. His arrest is a major breakthrough,” the officer said. He said that Hayat was instrumental in mobilizing the miscreants in and around Jenab Saeb Soura. He was previously affiliated with Muslim League (Proscribed Outfit) and was earlier booked twice under J&K Public Safety Act for his involvement in more than 16 FIR pertaining to law and order disturbances.

Instigator registered under UAPA

“This year three FIRs under Unlawful Activates Prevention Act were registered against him in Police station Soura for his involvement in subversive activities”, he said. The sources also say that he was also the mastermind in organizing protest demonstrations in front of the foreign media representatives so as to feed false information to the visiting journalists. “The police is also investigating whether he was also involved in any terror financing cases ”. The police say that his arrest will ensure
that there is no law and order problem-taking place in downtown area of Srinagar city.

Instigators took to disruption of peace after integration of Kashmir

“Few people have also been identified and we are hopeful to arrest them shortly ”, he said. On August 5, the Union Government revoked the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir by abrogating Article 370 of the Constitution, while several mainstream political leaders were put under detention, all the separatist leaders were arrested and many were shifted to jails outside Jammu and Kashmir. However, there were few who were instigating the people against the Government’s decision.
