Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a quite wonderful glimpse into what it's like to live in his shoes at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, showcasing via social media some of the critters that also occupy the storied residence.

Taking to Instagram, PM Modi has posted a 'story', which in three parts captures a compelling and captivating sight.

The backdrop for these is the vast manicured lawns of 7LKM, which are equipped to be animal-friendly. In the first picture, however, there is a bit of 'monkey business' going on at a very well-crafted bird house.

The Prime Minister describes it thusly:

"Look at the monkeys having fun at the 'chabutara': The arrangement for feeding birds :)"

In the picture, the monkeys aren't just in the bird-feeding contraption, they've also taken over the bird-baths.

The second picture appears to be of a fellow 7LKM resident that the Prime Minister is rather fond of - a peacock. PM Modi hasn't captioned this photo, perhaps feeling that the regal bird's majesty doesn't require any words to be put alongside it.

The third photo is also of a peacock (by all appearances, the same one), only this time it's moved out of the landscaped garden onto a marbled fountain area - another visual treat.

Along with this photo the PM also gives an update as to his upcoming plan, wherein he will first travel to Gujarat to flag off the Vibrant Gujarat summit, and then on to Maharashtra:

"Leaving for a visit to Gujarat and Maharashtra. Will see these friends at 7 LKM after three days."

Finally, in an Instagram post, the Prime Minister has shared a fourth picture of the peacock, this time in the midst of an eyewateringly-colourful flower patch.

This isn't the first time that PM Modi has given netizens a peek into his home. He had memorably capped off Union Minister Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore's #FitnessChallenge initiative with a demonstration of how he uses the various facets of the lawns for his daily Yoga routine.
