Kamlesh Tiwari Murder Case: Details of investigation released by ATS

All of the accused involved in the murder of Kamlesh Tiwari have been arrested by Gujarat ATS; details of the interrogation of the accused coming out.

All the accused allegedly involved in a murder, absconded after hatching an elaborate plan of escape being caught by the police on October 23. The two men who are allegedly responsible for the murder of Kamlesh Tiwari, founder and leader of Hindu Samaj Party have been arrested by Gujarat ATS (Anti Terror Squad), there some details of the interrogation of the accused coming out.

A lawyer and a Maulvi were co-conspirator

Sensational details of the investigation have now come to light which shows that there might be a famous lawyer also allegedly involved in the conspiracy to assassinate Kamlesh Tiwari. However, the officials have reason to believe that this lawyer was involved in only abetment of the two accused Ashfaq and Moinuddin when they were absconding after assassinating Tiwari. Reportedly, the lawyer whose identity officials are refusing to reveal also practices in the Supreme Court and is based in Bareli. Gujarat ATS has shared the details of the same with UP officials who now claim it is up to them to decide whether or not they have enough evidence to make the arrest since the link of the lawyer has primarily been found from police sources. Ashfaq and Moinuddin were shot at when they were physically struggling with Kamlesh Tiwari while they tried to murder him.

In the encounter with Tiwari both the accused sustained injuries on their hands. Apart from this, there are several co-conspirators as well who helped plan and assist the murder. The two accused are reportedly from Surat and Ahmedabad, there were several clerics and Maulvis who were consulted by the accused to find out if this said assassination was justified in their religion. Apparently, the maulanas that the accused had consulted gave them permission to carry out the killing.

"We have found out that Mohsin, who was another of the accused was a maulana and he himself helped them get in touch with other clerics. Ashfaq and Mohsin were also friendly and that is how they sparked the conversation about justified killings", an ATS official shared with Republic TV.

More leaders were on the Hitlist

Officials have also shared with Republic TV exclusively that there were several other right-wing leaders who were under scrutiny and were on the hitlist of the accused. Apparently they had also been hurt by the statements made by Kamlesh Tiwari and also that Tiwari at one point had said he will make a movie on the said prophet so that people get to know about it.

"It was a crime of passion that these accused had carried out. There were a few more names of their target since those had also made several such statements which they felt were insulting to the religion," another official shared.

Stole Sim cards and hitchhiked with civilians

Reportedly, as soon as they carried out the murder, they fled to Nepal. Officials believe they did not have resources or contacts to sustain themselves and since they had some help, they decided to return to Surat. They took public transport and hitchhiked with civilians in commercial trucks as well to reach the Gujarat border. It was revealed that the accused used two stolen sim cards from the train in which they were travelling.

Armed with weapons from Surat

The gun and knives that were used in the murder of Kamlesh Tiwari were also tracked down from Surat. The weapons were supplied to them by a local goon who had been arrested based on the leads from several prior allegations against him. However, the officials refused to reveal more details about him at this juncture.
