Khanapara Teer Lottery is actually based on archery in Meghalaya. It includes 12 archery clubs from a particular locality in Khanapara. Teer game results and common numbers and provided by the Teer Lottery regularly. Each day, 50 archers shoot 30 arrows at 4:00 pm and 20 arrows at 5:00 pm in the second round. This lottery revolves around the concept of putting an arrow through the selected number and winning the prize money if you succeed.
Teer Lottery itself has three subcategories – Juwai Teer, Shillong Teer and Khanapara Teer. Meghalaya State Lottery Department regulates the Khanapara Teer Lottery. Khanapara Teer lottery has two rounds, where one result is released around 30 minutes before the second round of results are out. The round 1 winner of Khanapara Teer wins a reward of ₹80 on every single rupee while the Round 2 winner receives ₹60 on each rupee.
The Teer betting was legalised by the government in 1982. They realised that the lottery could be a decent source of revenue. Meghalaya Amusements and Betting Tax (Amendment) Act 1982 currently controls the Teer betting. The Meghalaya Assembly passed the Meghalaya Regulation of the Game of Arrow Shooting on September 27, 2018.
A large number of Khanapara Teer betting tickets are sold on a daily basis. The timing slot is between 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. First-round results are declared at 4:00 pm while the second round results go live at 5:00 pm. The person who has bought the ticket has to predict the final two digits from the total sum of arrows that hit the target. Even previous lottery results can be easily found online.
