Just a couple of days after they expressed 'brother-sister' love for each other, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and her state IPL team's owner, Shah Rukh Khan, indulged in a healthy exchange of words on Twitter.

The Trinamool chief complimented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) following their 28-run win over Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Wednesday at the Eden Gardens, which was the team's second in as many games.

'King' Khan acknowledged Didi's appreciation, and came up with a witty response as he assured his team will do its best to continue strongly.

On Monday, just days before his side's second IPL 2019 fixture, Shah Rukh Khan met Mamata Banerjee at the Bengal state secretariat, Nabanna Bhavan.

The two addressed the media together, wherein the state CM expressed confidence that the team will this year, after SRK showed the victory symbol. The actor thanked the support from the passionate Eden Gardens supporters for the first win.

SRK then said, “We will all win this year’ and hugged the CM. She also exulted, “Brother and sister always winners.”

The bonhomie between the two isn't a recent one. In 2017, SRK had said, "Every year I wait for an important wish. Didi's Rakhi wish on Raksha Bandhan day. I am looking forward to that call this year too.”

KKR are two-time IPL winners, having won the title in 2012 and 2014. They are aiming to become the third team to win the prestigious tournament on three occasions.

The team began their 2019 campaign with a six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and followed it up with a 28-run win against KXIP on Tuesday.

Presently, they sit on top of the IPL table, ahead of Chennai Super Kings, who also have won both their matches, on net run-rate.
