A video of a hyena attacking a leopard has gone viral on the internet as the leopard is seen jumping over the hyena within fractions of seconds and climbed up the tree in order to save itself. In the nine-second video, the leopard had no way out as the hyena could have grabbed him and could have attacked the big cat with a fatal blow any second. The video posted by an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Susanta Nanda on Twitter has been viewed thousands of times and has been flooded with comments.

The leopard's strong presence of mind and a prompt reflex has left the netizens astonished. Apart from comments like “superb grab” and “fantastic”, one netizen commented, “I presume it is the pack that scares the lone leopard, as much as it does alone lion”, another internet user commented, “what a leap. Leopards are sharp and smart, of course, seldom.”

Acrobatic hornbills

The IFS officer Susanta Nanda earlier this month also posted a video of two hornbills engaging in a thrilling acrobatic mating dance that had left the netizens in awe. The video shows both the birds amidst a mating ritual and one bird offering food to another. It is presumed that the male offered the food to the female as during the mating season the young male hornbill is known to outshout each other to win a female's attention.
