Parli in Maharashtra's Beed district has been shut and generation of electricity stopped due to lack of demand caused by the lockdown for the novel coronavirus outbreak, an official said on Monday. It has the capacity to generate 750 megawatts of electricity.

"The lockdown has brought industry and commercial activities, railways to a halt, hence the demand for electricity has reduced. Out of three units, one was shut on March 21, while the other two were shut on March 23," he said.
