Lt. Governor RK Mathur holds meetings with delegations in Ladakh

Ladakh's Lt. Governor RK Mathur on Tuesday met with various delegations including the LAHDC in Ladakh. Mathur also discussed about the UT's development plan

Lt. Governor R K Mathur of the Union Territory Ladakh on Tuesday met with the representatives of the  Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC). Upon his meeting with the members of the LAHDC, Lt Governor RK Mathur said, " The entire nation admires and values the patriotism and communal harmony of the people of Kargil Ladakh and the sacrifices they have made for the nation." The meeting was also attended by Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan, Executive Councilors, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Superintendent of Police Kargil and Councilors.

The Lt. Governor also conducted a meeting with the district officers, met the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Kargil, and also interacted with various political, religious leaders, social groups and associations.

'The government wants Ladakh to prosper just like other parts of India'- R K Mathur

During his meetings, the Lt Governor R K Mathur stated that the Central Government wants Kargil to prosper just like other parts of the nation and become a partner in the country’s economic progress. He also said that the fund flow for developmental projects in the region will increase and that the recent government decisions were meant to speed up the progress of the people of Ladakh. 

The Lt. Governor assured that the operation of commercial aircraft, AN 32 Courier Service, MI-17 and other Helicopter services, opening up of Zojila pass till late winter, etc will be worked upon as top priority. 

During the day an exposure visit for the Executive Council members of both LAHDCs in the near future was announced. The members of the LAHDC Kargil were informed during the meeting that that funds for completion of the Council Secretariat infrastructure project will be released in a short course of time. 

RK Mathur further added that for efficient administration Raj Bhawan, UT Secretariat, Police establishment and residences will be made available in Kargil also.
