A Malaysian private health institution has started what it calls a "drive-through COVID-19 screening" facility at its hospital in Kuala Lumpur.

With a small fee, anybody can be tested without stepping out of the car.

Rozman Idrus, Medical Director at Kumpulan Perubatan Johor Hospital said the drive-through tent can screen up to 175 people per day using this method, and the results would be available within 24 hours.

This type of screening is similar to the one used in South Korea for their mass testing drive.

Malaysia has seen a total of 2470 confirmed cases, out of which 388 patients recovered and 35 have died.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and could lead to death.
