The Delhi Police have booked a senior government employee for allegedly raping his late friend's minor daughter. According to the sources, the victim is a student in class 12 who started living in the accused's house in Burari after her father passed away. According to sources, the accused was her supposed guardian and sheltered her in his house two years ago. However, it was during this time that she was physically abused and raped multiple times.
The survivor made the revelations after extensive psychological counselling. She was also admitted to a hospital a week ago after she experienced anxiety attacks. During one of the counselling sessions, the victim opened up about the abuse and even claimed to have undergone an abortion by the accused and his wife. Based on the accusations, a medicolegal examination was conducted and further investigation is underway.
Notably, the names of the persons involved have been withheld to conceal their identities. Sources say the details will be disclosed after recording of the statements before the magistrate. Meanwhile, the victim is currently under care and is recovering.
