In a big win for the Indian forces at the Kashmir Valley, top Hizbul commander Manan Wani was gunned down in a joint operation of the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday. Congratulating the Indian forces, the former deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Kavinder Gupta said:

“The operation was initiated successfully by the security forces. They did a good job there. A lot of political parties were against the operation, but still they carried it out very well, I would like to congratulate them,” said Kavinder Gupta in his statement to Republic TV.

Further, reacting to the tweet by PDP leader and former CM of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, in which termed terrorist Manan Wani as a 'scholar' and 'educated boy’, Kavinder Gupta exclaimed that howsoever ‘educated’ a man is, action will be taken against him for spreading terrorism.

“In her saying, he was an educated boy. But howsoever educated a man is, he is not allowed to spread terrorism. Actions will always be taken against such people. His death will change the environment in Kashmir. As for Mehbooba Mufti, being the former CM of the state, she is sending a wrong message for Kashmir youth through such a message. It then means she supported stone-pelters and probably, this is why BJP took away its support from you”, Former Major of Jammu, Kavinder Gupta said.

"The main reason as to why BJP took its support away from Mehbooba Muftiji, was because she had been interfering in a lot of administration works, causing hindrances for the security forces in the valley and supporting the stone-pelters also," he added.

Soon after the death of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Manan Wani was confirmed, PDP chief and former CM of the state, Mehbooba Mufti paid tribute to him. Rather than praising the forces for their brave act, she termed the terrorist as a 'scholar' and 'educated boy', while calling for talks to be held with Pakistan in tweets on the social media.
