Mansukh Mandaviya rides a bicycle to Rashtrapati Bhavan for his swearing-in, just as he does to Parliament

After weaving a historic victory of the NDA by securing a massive mandate of 353 Lok Sabha seats in 2019, eyes are now intact on the Cabinet composition of the new government, as PM Narendra Modi takes oath along with 50 Ministers on May 30 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

After weaving a historic victory of the NDA by securing a massive mandate of 353 Lok Sabha seats in 2019, eyes are now intact on the Cabinet composition of the new government, as PM Narendra Modi takes oath along with 50 Ministers on May 30 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Along with the glossary of guests present to witness the ceremony, BJP's Gujarat MP Mansukh L Mandaviya stole the spotlight by making an entry on two wheels- his bicycle. 

Speaking about cycling being his passion, he said, "It is eco-friendly, it saves fuel and keeps you physically healthy."

Mandaviya who is set to be a Minister for another term in the Prime Minister Modi government rode his bicycle to the venue like he has been to the Parliament for the past 5 years. The politician has been known for riding his bike.  Previously, Mandaviya was the Minister of State for Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Shipping and Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

The ceremony unfolded in the presence of 8,000 guests including VVIPs, leaders of the BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) and personalities from sports and film.

Narendra Modi took the oath as the Prime Minister of India, beginning his second consecutive term in office at 7:05 pm on May 30 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan's Forecourt in the presence of over 8,000 guests.  

Here is the oath: 

"I, Narendra Damodardas Modi do swear in the name of God that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution as established by the law established, that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India, that I will faithfully and conscientiously discharge my duties as a Minister for the Union and that I will do right to all manner of the people in accordance with the Constitution and the law, without fear or favour, affection or ill-will."

Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Ram Vilas Paswan also took oath to office in the Modi Cabinet.

On May 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to a landslide victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, by winning a total of 353 seats, with BJP winning 303 seats on its own out of the 542 Parliamentary seats that went to polls in the seven-phase elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party-led by PM Modi and Amit Shah won the highest ever seats in the Lok Sabha in this election, by sweeping states like Rajasthan, Gujarat and Delhi.
