Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday wishes to Rahul Gandhi, who turned 49 on June 19. 

"May he be blessed with good health and long life," PM Modi tweeted on Wednesday morning for the Congress president.

The Congress twitter handle shared a short video for their party president, wherein they looked back at the 'five moments when he inspired Indians everywhere.'

After missing the early proceedings of the first session of the 17th Lok Sabha on Monday morning, Congress president Rahul Gandhi took oath to office as the Member of Parliament from Kerala's Wayanad in the evening. 

Sharing a video of the moment, Indian National Congress party's official Twitter handle said "Congress President Rahul Gandhi takes oath for a fourth consecutive term as a member of Lok Sabha". In the video clip from Lok Sabha TV, Rahul Gandhi can be seen sitting with UPA Chairperson and Raebareli MP Sonia Gandhi with other Congress MPs sitting around them.

Earlier he took to Twitter and said that he begins his news innings in Parliament today by taking his oath, affirming that he will bear true faith and allegiance to the Consitution of India.
