A day after Bihar Dy CM Tejashwi Yadav's security personnel physically assaulted media persons after his press conference, the RJD leader came out and said that it was the media who started the scuffle and that his men were just defending themselves. Tejashwi, son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, said that there was a frantic scramble by journalists to get his "byte", when he emerged from his meeting. He also alleged that reporters had been harassing his security personnel even before the event started, and added that they started the scuffle.

Tejashwi Yadav was responding after his security personnel were caught on tape physically assaulting media persons, causing widespread outrage.

Yadav also came out with a lengthy Facebook post justifying the incident, and said he had a friendly relationship with the media. "There are misleading information about attack on media persons," he said.

" Couple of media person were putting mike behind me & brushed my ears & head also. There were moments when around ten mikes were about to hit my nose, I saved myself & duty personals were protecting it while being on duty," he justified.

Earlier, Lalu Prasad Yadav's men had physically assaulted Republic TV crew after he  was questioned on corruption charges and links with dreaded mafia don Shahabuddin.
