Meghalaya Police reports 'Rasna Scam' after drug peddlers sell Rasna Powder as drugs, netizens stoked

While most police departments employ elaborate drug-busting operations to catch drug peddlers and drug abusers, Meghalaya Police, on Thursday added a social element to a recent 'drug bust' when they posted a scam alert where drug peddlers in Shillong market have been scamming their clients pushing 'Rasna powder' instead of drugs.

Netizens have enjoyed their 'drug wit':

Similarly, Rajasthan Police flaunted their recent drug haul, promising free stay and food at the police's expense for the owners of the drugs.

In a similar 'lost-and-found' invitation, Assam Police had asked whether anyone had lost a huge (590 kgs) amount of Cannabis/Ganja and a truck in and around Chagolia Checkpoint, asking them to meet with the helpful Dhubri Police.

While Assam and Rajasthan have been creative, Indians agree across the nation that the king of sarcasm is Mumbai Police which regularly uses recent events and pop culture to share social messages.
