Meanwhile, Mehbooba Mufti has raked up controversy after she hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that he bashes political parties before elections and stitches alliances with the very same parties later. Taking to Twitter, the former Jammu and Kashmir CM tweeted:

"Why does PM bash political families pre-elections & then sends his envoys to stitch alliances with the very same parties? NC in 99 & PDP in 2015. Why do they choose power over Article 370 then? BJP with its noxious agenda of banishing Muslims & minorities wants to divide India".

Mehbooba Mufti is contesting the ongoing Lok Sabha election from the Anantnag seat, which she had won in 2014. The south Kashmir constituency, spread over the four districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian, is going to the polls in three phases from April 29 to May 6.
