Mumbai Rains: Wall collapse, flooded roads and overflowing lakes grip Thane City

The extremely heavy downpour in the Mumbai metropolis has also taken a toll in the suburbs. Visuals from the neighboring Thane city show the massive damage that the showers have inflicted upon the lake city.

In a video that surfaced on social media, a wall can be seen collapsing in Thane's Vasant Leela, a housing society situated in Ghodbunder Road. The scary footage of the post-wall collapse shows the wall being reduced to rubble as it damaged two cars. One of the cars was completely smashed by the collapse. Watch the CCTV footage here:

Majority of lakes in the city started overflowing. The famous Upvan Lake in Thane's Pokhran Road also started to overflow. Watch the video here:

One of the most shocking incidents was when the Ghodbunder Road was flooded and buses had a tough time as they made their way through the water-logged highway. Water started gushing into a TMT bus. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Mumbai has issued district-wise forecast and warnings about heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. As per the report, Thane, Raigad, Palghar and Mumbai are scheduled to witness incessant downpours.
