Naveen Patnaik Inaugurates 'Adisha' to Promote Tribal-Made Products

Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated a Tribal World Outlet on Monday to promote products by tribals on a large scale for consumers. The outlet was inaugurated on the premises of Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha Ltd (TDCCOL), in Bhubaneshwar. The outlet is an Apex Co-operative under ST & SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department of Odisha.

Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Anant Narayan Jena, Principal Secretary Ranjana Chopra and SC/ST Development Director Sachin R. Yadav, Minister Jagannath Saraka and other BJD MLAs were present for the occasion.

Tribal World Outlet - Adisha

The Tribal outlet is named Adisha by combining Adibasi and Odisha where 'adibasi' means tribal.

In a press release, TDCCOL said that the aim of Adisha was "To facilitate the marketing of tribal products like minor forest produces, Surplus Agriculture Produces, handicraft, handlooms, art, jewellery, spices, painting, food items like ragi cookies, bakery products and much more that are organically crafted with love by the tribals themselves. TDCCOL has 11 exclusive Tribal World Outlets in six districts in the State apart from a dedicated mobile shop that is Tribals on Wheels."

TDCCOL has been operating since the year 1967 to market the items produced by the tribals and ensure fair pricing of goods. Managing Director of TDCCOL, Mansi Nimbhal said that this tribal outlet, Adisha will be sell handicrafts, handlooms, food products produced by tribal artisans, which will enable them to get a direct income and a good market to sell their products.
She also added that people from anywhere in the world can buy from these artisans by visiting the e-commerce website named 'adibasis.in'.

CM Naveen Patnaik launches Online Payment System

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had also launched an online land revenue payment system on August 15, Independence Day, in Bhubaneswar. It was launched to aid to farmers and other people in Odisha to pay land revenue. The CM said that this system will help people pay their land rent and obtain a receipt within minutes.
