On the demise of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, the country is observing national mourning on March 18, with the National Flag to fly at half-mast across the states and Union Territories. Goa government announced seven days of mourning to be observed throughout the state from March 18 to 24 after the death of chief minister Manohar Parrikar. 

The Goa CM died at his residence in Panaji on Sunday after fighting a prolonged battle with cancer. As his last journey is being performed in the state on Monday, #WeMissManoharParrikar is trending on social media wherein the netizens are sharing their most precious memories of the man who led the surgical strike against the terror groups when he served as the Union Defence Minister in 2016.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi met on Monday morning to condole the demise of the former Union Defense Minister. A two-minute was observed in his memory and a resolution was also passed hailing the Goa CM's contribution to the nation.
