Pakistan Foreign Minister invites Sushma Swaraj, Amrinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu for Kartarpur corridor ceremony on November 28

Mr. Mahmood took to Twitter on Saturday to extend his invitation to the three politicians.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood has invited his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj, Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu to Pakistan to attend the groundbreaking ceremony at Kartarpur on November 28, 2018. Mr. Mahmood took to Twitter on Saturday to extend his invitation to the three politicians. He wrote:

Meanwhile, the formal invitations have been delivered at the time of writing. However, India is likely to respond to the invitation by tomorrow.

On the other hand, Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh has invited speaker of Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi for attending the foundation stone laying ceremony of Kartarpur corridor. Given below is the statement by Punjab Assembly of Pakistan:

Lahore: 24-11-2018: Indian Punjab Chief Minister Captain (Retd) Amarinder Sing has felicitated Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi in the context of opening of Kartarpur border and invited him to visit Indian Punjab and attending foundation stone ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor on November 26. 
Chief Minister Captain (R) Amarinder Singh's most trusted lieutenant and Senior Minister Rana Gurmeet Sing Sodhi telephoned Ch Parvez Elahi in this regard. 
Ch Parvez Elahi said that credit for opening of Kartarpur border goes to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh should pay a visit to Pakistan, I will also tour India. Both the leaders inquired about welfare of each other and family members. 
In 2005, at the special invitation of Chief Minister Ch Parvez Elahi, Captain (R) Amarinder Singh had visited Lahore and here he along with Ch Parvez Elahi had laid the foundation stone of Wahgah to Nankana Sahib dual carriageway, Nankana Sahib was given district status also during his tenure whereas the road up to Gurdwara Kartarpur was also completed during Ch Parvez Elahi's period and direct bus service between Lahore and Amritsar was also started.

In a landmark decision, the union cabinet approved the building of the Kartarpur corridor, details of which were released by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. In the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Cabinet passed a Resolution to celebrate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Devji, which falls in the year 2019, throughout the country and across the globe, in a grand and befitting manner along with the State Governments and the Indian Missions abroad. Guru Nanak Devji’s teachings of love, peace, equality and brotherhood have eternal value.
