PM Modi, HM Amit Shah, other leaders share Bhai Dooj greetings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday shared his best wishes to fellow citizens on the occasion of Bhai Dooj. He posted a Hindi message on the micro-blogging site Twitter which read, “Best wishes to all of you on the occasion of Bhai Dooj, a symbol of affection and love between brothers and sisters. This auspicious occasion should further strengthen mutual relations.”

Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his greetings on Bhai Dooj. “Many wishes to all of you on the auspicious occasion of Bhai Dooj,” tweeted Shah. He also shared a cartoon poster giving the same message.

Union Textile and Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani also tweeted her wishes on Bhai Dooj. “Heartfelt greetings to fellow Indians on Bhai Dooj, a festival dedicated to the unwavering bond love and trust between brothers and sisters,” said Irani in a Hindi post. Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also shared his best wishes.

“My greetings to fellow Indians on the occasion of Bhai Dooj, a festival of affection between brother and sister. On this celebration of our culture and tradition, the unwavering bond between siblings should be strengthened. I pray to God that this love may remain forever,” tweeted Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

Delhi government's scheme of providing free rides for women in Delhi public buses began on Tuesday with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wishing female residents on 'Bhai Dooj'. Manish Sisodia said in a tweet in Hindi, "Free-ride for women in Delhi buses has started from today. Congratulations Delhi! Apart from women's safety, it will also increase the role of women in Delhi's economy..."
