PM Modi crosses 30 mn followers on Instagram, creates milestone

PM Narendra Modi on Oct 13, achieved yet another milestone when he crossed 30 million followers on Instagram. He is the most followed world leader on Instagram.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, October 13, achieved yet another milestone when he crossed 30 million followers on Instagram. After being one of the most followed leaders on Twitter, PM Modi's popularity has also increased on Instagram, way ahead of other global leaders. He is the most followed world leader on this platform with 30 million people following his Instagram account. PM Modi is ahead of Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, who has 25.6 million followers and former US President Barack Obama who has 24.8 million followers. He is also way ahead of Donald Trump, who has 14.9 million followers.

One of the most active global leaders on social media

PM Modi is also the only world leader to reach the milestone of 30 million followers. In September, PM Modi's Twitter follower count crossed 50 million. He is one of the most active and most followed global leaders on social media, including Facebook and Twitter. He has 50.7 million followers on Twitter and his Facebook page has more than 44 million likes. Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo is the most followed celebrity on Instagram with 186 million followers. BJP's IT Cell head Amit Malviya also posted about the same on his Twitter account.

PM Modi pens a poem

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, while writing on the microblogging website Twitter, stated that he was mentally engrossed in a conversation with the ocean while strolling on the beach of Mahabalipuram. At that juncture, the PM was hosting Chinese President Xi Jinping for the second informal summit between India and China. Titled 'O Ocean, my salutations to you', the poem contains vivid emotions about life. The PM penned the poem on Saturday.
