President Kovind pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti

In his tweet, President Kovind highlighted the values and morals followed by Mahatma Gandhi. He mentioned that Gandhiji will always be a guiding light.

On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday, President Ram Nath Kovind took to Twitter to pay his tributes to the Father of the Nation. In his tweet, President Kovind highlighted the values and morals followed by Mahatma Gandhi. He also mentioned that Mahatma Gandhi will always be a guiding light in each one of our lives.

Wishes by other leaders

Apart from the President, several other leaders also paid their tributes on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Union Home Minister in his tweet said, "Mahatma Gandhi Ji was such a great man whose philosophy and thoughts are as much eternal and unwavering today. New energy and inspiration is communicated in every person by the thoughts and ideas of Pujya Bapu. Salute him on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who showed the whole world the path of truth and non-violence."

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh remembering Mahatma Gandhi's contribution towards the country tweeted, "Greetings to everyone on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. We bow to him for his tremendous contribution in shaping the destiny of this country. My heartfelt tributes to Bapu on his Jayanti."

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu along with Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal also took to their Twitter handles to pay tributes to the Father of the Nation.

Piyush Goyal in his tweets said, "#MahatmaGandhi Ji had dreamed of a clean society, come on his birthday to fulfill his dream #SwachhataHiSeva Take the pledge to be clean. Cleanliness of the country and society will be a true tribute to that great personality."
