Rajnath Singh credits HAL, DRDO, and IAF for Made in India Tejas

Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh has thanked Vice President Venkiah Naidu for his warm wishes and gave credits to HAL, DRDO, IAF for Made in India Tejas

Union Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh has thanked Vice President Venkaiah Naidu for his warm wishes after he flew on the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas on Thursday. In response to a tweet by the Vice President Office, the Defence Minister thanked the Vice President and hailed HAL, DRDO, IAF, and several other agencies who were responsible for indigenously developing the light aircraft.

Vice President Office compliments Defence Minister

Earlier, the Vice President Office through its official handle had tweeted saying that Singh's gesture of flying on the LCA will provide a big boost to the morale of Armed Forces, DRDO and HAL. In response, Singh tweeted, "Thank you Uprashtrapatiji, but the real credit must go to HAL, DRDO, IAF, and several other agencies. Thanks to these agencies, today we have reached a level where we can export fighter planes across the world."

On Thursday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flew in the twin-seater version of the indigenous Tejas after a briefing by Indian Air Force pilots. It was a crucial 30-minute sortie, meant to serve as a significant acknowledgment of officers who have been involved in the development of the indigenously-made Tejas. With this flight, he also became the first minister to fly in Tejas.

Rajnath Singh flies on Tejas

After flying on the light combat aircraft, Rajnath Singh expressed his delight through a tweet in which he said that he had an amazing and exhilarating experience. He also said, "The flight was very smooth and very very comfortable for me and I was enjoying." "The demand for Tejas is coming in even from other countries and I understand that we have now reached a point where we can export fighter planes, arms, and ammunition to the world," the Defence Minister added.
