The survivor in the Rewari gangrape case has been hospitalised again after her condition worsened on Friday. This happened after the police took her to the crime scene and she was asked questions to recreate the crime scene. Following this, the rape survivor had to be admitted to the hospital again as she suffered from mental trauma.

The doctor who was treating the victim said that since the victim was taken to a hostile environment (crime scene) straight from the hospital, she was traumatised.

“She was getting proper treatment here and since 3-4 days, she was perfectly fine. Which is why after consulting with her parents, we decided to discharge her. After she was discharged from here, the police took her to the crime scene. In such situation, when the patient was taken to a hostile situation straight from the hospital, she felt dizziness and uneasiness and complained about. Even we have told the patient and her attendants that if they feel any issue, they can come back to us,”  said the doctor treating the rape survivor.

The doctor, however, also assured that after the victim was admitted back to the hospital, she was getting better

“The hospital environment was very friendly and cordial. There was a safe environment here for the patient. Since she was taken to a hostile environment from here, there is possibility that she must have been traumatised. I checked on her just now. She had fever last night, but right now she is absolutely fine and she is getting right treatment,” said the doctor.

The survivor was discharged from Rewari Civil Hospital on Thursday afternoon and was later re-admitted a few hours later as she complained of uneasiness.
