On December 7, a team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided Skylight hospitality, Robert Vadra’s office in Sukhdev Vihar, Delhi for the commissions received by the accused in defense deals. In response to the raid, Vadra’s counsel made serious charges against the ED of hounding his clients and fabricating evidence.

"On Wednesday, December 5 I went to the Enforcement Directorate. These are the documents I have submitted the 600-page document to the four ED officers. Before that November 26, I went again and submitted the documents, and ever since four to five years we've been going," he said.

Responding to Vadra’s appearance during the raids he said, “Did they say they want to interrogate him? No. Did they say he's accused? No. Did they say he's needed as a witness? No. They said that they need to documents and I have given them that. What more do they want? Do they want to see his (Robert Vadra's) face? If you want to interrogate someone, it should be written."

Vadra’s advocate made serious allegations on the ED, accusing them of carrying raids without a search warrant and locking clients up in the office.

“Why are people locked-up inside? Is this a jail? Why are they not allowed lawyers? Is this CBI's prison or Tihar jail? Whose property is this. I asked them to show their authority, they refused. I asked them for a search warrant they refused even that. They broke the lock and got in. My client , my lawyers have not received third summon,” he said.

He criticised the ED for conducted raids on Vadra’s personal assistant and his relatives including his mother, wife, and sister, "They haven't given us the reason. Vadra is not inside, as far as I know. They even reached the close aide of Vadra, Manoj Arora and his ailing mother who is over 80-years, they questioned her and even his wife. They reached his sister's house too and his ailing husband. Isn't this a Human Rights violation?"

The Counsel accused the ED of planting evidence and distracting the attention from elections, saying, “This is a straight thing, it's been four and a half years and they found no evidence so they wanted to lock the door and plant the evidence. They just want to shift the attention for elections. What's happening inside is the planting and manufacturing of evidence.”
