Ram Temple will be built on December 6: Sakshi

"The manner in which the archaeological department has presented its facts...The Shia Board has given in writing that temple should be constructed there. Similarly, the Sunni Board also spoke in favour of the temple by the time hearing came to an end," the BJP MP said. To a question, he said, "I feel that soon we will get the verdict by the Supreme Court and it will be in favour of the Ram temple and its construction will start by December 6."

Asked about the course of action in case the verdict was not in favour of Ram temple, the saffron-clad Lok Sabha member said, "Main Sakshi hoon agar-magar ka koi sthan nahi hai. Kya Nirnay anewala hai mujhe jankari hai. Isliye main kah raha hoon 6 December se pehle mandir nirman shuru ho jayega. (No ifs and buts, I know what will be the verdict, that is why I am saying temple construction will start by December 6).

It was on December 6, 1992, that the disputed Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid structure was demolished by kar sevaks.

PM Modi's message ahead of Ayodhya verdict

PM Narendra Modi in this month's edition of Mann Ki Baat spoke about the need to maintain unity and peace in the society ahead of the Ayodhya verdict by the Supreme Court. PM Modi recalled the matured response from every stakeholder in the Ayodhya verdict in 2010 by the Allahabad High Court, as well as from parties from across the spectrum, religious figures and civil society members. Indicating the importance of maintaining peace and unity in the country following the Supreme Court's verdict in the Ayodhya case, he spoke about how the country experienced peace despite attempts to inflame emotions days before the Allahabad verdict in 2010.

"On the one hand, the emotions were being inflamed for two weeks. But, when the verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi case was given, the government, political parties, social organizations, civil society, representatives of all sects, saints gave measured statements. I remember that day well. Whenever I remember that day, I feel very happy. They respected the judiciary with pride and did not allow tension to be created anywhere. This is an example of how great the strength of unity gives the country," he said.

Latest in Ayodhya case in Supreme Court

The top court, which reserved the verdict in the politically sensitive case on October 16 after hearing it for 40 days, had asked the litigating parties including the deity Ram Lalla (represented by next friend Deoki Nandan Agrawal) and UP Sunni Central Wakf Board to submit their written note within three days. The parties were asked to give their views on "moulding of reliefs", which they seek in the vexatious dispute so that the apex court could narrow down the issues needed to be adjudicated upon. "That the extent of the suit property is 1480 sq. yards and the petitioner and other Hindus worship in the suit property as deity from time immemorial and proved as believed as birth place of Sri Ram from time immemorial and the birth place of Sri Ram is non-negotiable," the note filed by senior lawyer C S Vaidyanathan on behalf of the deity and the birthplace said.

Besides the deity other Hindu parties -- Nirmohi Akhara and devotee Gopal Singh Visharad -- had also filed their written note on Saturday in this case. Reports say that the final verdict is likely to come on November 29.
