Sirsa lashes out at Kejriwal, says 'Religious sites are our legacy'

Manjinder Singh Sirsa lashed out against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Government for its proposal to realign the Bhai Mati Das Chowk and other religious sites in the Chandni Chowk area of Delhi. Sirsa shared a video message on his social media platforms. In his message, the Akali Dal leader even mentioned the government's proposal to demolish the Piau Sahib Gurudwara which was restored after a High Court Order. He asked the Delhi Government to leave the religious sites alone.

According to sources, the Delhi Government has proposed the development of the Chandni Chowk area for which it called a meeting. The other religious sites included in the said proposal are the Pagal Baba Temple and the Hanuman Temple in Chandni Chowk. 

Ravidas Temple to be rebuilt

The Supreme Court on Monday accepted the Centre's proposal to hand over Sant Ravidas temple site to a committee of devotees to re-build the shrine at the same place where it was demolished in August in South. A petition filed in the Supreme Court by Congress leader Rajesh Lilothia asked for a direction to allow construction of a Guru Ravidas temple in the Tughlaqabad forest area in Delhi. The temple was demolished by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) following the court's direction as it was built on encroached forest land. DDA's decision was met with protests by devotees and others who disagreed with the move.
